Kristell Ink

The wonderful people at Kristell Ink have been kind enough to publish two of my books. They are a bit of a new direction for me - still Steampunk, but darker and a little more sinister. They are set in the same universe, but do not have to be read in any specific order.

Amunet has a unique talent; she can talk to the dead.

She had been told all her life that this is the key to rescuing her mother, taken by mysterious and powerful forces when Amunet was only a child. To unlock her mother's prison, all she has to do is find the Locksmith.

Britain, still a Catholic state, frowns on anything supernatural, and the Holy British Inquisition has squads of investigators tracking down all who show signs of eldritch powers.

Working as a Medium, she scours Europe for the one person who can help her, then finds the one place left to look is the one place she never wanted to go.

Something foul scurries through the streets of Victorian England, clicking and ticking as it goes. There are metal men, hidden in plain sight but with darkness in their cold mechanical minds, coerced into a cruel travesty of life at the hands of a technomancer. George Wheeler, one-time Church Investigator of things forbidden, is approached by past colleagues from the Metropolitan Police; to investigate these unnerving machines.

Together with Keene - a young man with a dubious history but an old trusted friend of his son - and a resourceful apprentice at Mainwaring's Mechanical Servants named Alfie, Wheeler's investigations plunge him into a cruel and violent world of which he wants no part, dealing with forces he refuses to accept, yet knowing this is not something he can walk away from.
